2019 Volvo S60 T8 R-Design: owner review

There is no other car on the market (as stock) that comes with a supercharger, turbocharger, and electric motor, all put into one performance-orientated package that brings together sportiness, comfort, and economy. Not to mention the absolutely beautifully designed exterior, regardless of the viewing angles.

Living in regional country Victoria, I have driven 25000km that returns an average fuel economy of between 1-2 litres per 100 kilometres. My daily commute is about 80-120km (return trip) daily. I plug in the car at home, as well as at work for the maximum fuel saving.

The 0-100km/h is less than 5 seconds, and is as exhilarating when overtaking as it can be. It is also very comfortable during long distance rides.

The radar-controlled cruise control is easy to activate with the pressing of just one button, and the LED automatic non-blinding matrix high beam is just amazingly, intuitively, and practically amusing in the dark.

The stereo is upmarket, with the concert hall mode coming with crispness, clarity and rich surround sound. The Bluetooth is easy to connect. The iPad-style central console is practically easy to use. The 360 camera is one of the best in the class, as per many professional reviewers.

Yes, you might argue that there are zero emission pure electric cars, but you cant possibly travel around some country town, even with proper planning, due to the lack of the battery charging infrastructures.

Two little downsides is the lacking of storage space under the armrest, as well as the lacking of USB charging port for the rear passengers.

Overall, a car that I will hold on to for a long time to come!
